Now that I've had my car for a month and a half, maybe I should write a post about it?! :)

Let's start from the beginning. It was a little over a week before my 22nd birthday, and I was in a shopping mood, so I went to the mall during my lunch break. I was headed to the Gap when I saw an adorable little car! I immediately wanted it, and took a picture of the car with my iPhone and emailed it to my mom telling her it would be a great birthday present! Also mentioning inheritance money I had. Her reply? Finance it. Which I wasn't sure what that meant exactly so I googled it. Oh, it means getting a loan and paying it off over time. Well, duh!

Next, my parents and I were out in Christiansburg, and I told them to take me by the Duncan Hyundai lot to see if they had that car there and just look at it. My mom looked with me, and next to the two door version, was a four door version. Four doors was more appealing, and sounded safer anyway, and it had a stick shift! (Which I love driving!) Plus it was totally adorable!

I thought about it over the weekend, and the next Monday I went to my mom and told her I wanted to get that car and I needed her help to figure out all the financing and such. She made me wait until my dad got home for us to go look at the car...gosh! But when we got there, it was GONE!? I was so crushed, because I had worked myself up with excitement to get that car! Brad, the guy who gave us info on the car a few days before, came up and greeted us. He told us that the next people who came to look at that car bought it. No way! I started to think I'd go with the 2 door version like originally, and I was happy with the Ice Blue color over the Navy anyway. He told me he'd go look to see what they had coming in that was similar to the car we looked at before. When he came back they had an Ice Blue four door Hyundai Accent with a stick shift! I was so excited! So we went inside and sat at one of those little desks to talk about options. We had to make a small down payment to hold the car for us.

Next came all the trying to figure out my credit...see if someone would give me a car loan...and I had to set up car insurance for myself! It felt so adult to prepare all that stuff. I learned so much! And I'm all graduated! Just shows you still learn even after you've gotten out of school!

I was finally approved for a loan, my car got to Christiansburg the night of my birthday! Brad called me at my birthday dinner to let me know my car was in! It was an awesome phone call. The next day I got all my paper work ready, headed to Christiansburg with my mom, and picked up my car! (After signing my life away to BB&T for the loan...so worth it though!)

The first thing I did was take it to work and show everyone there, since I had been gushing about it so much! Then I had to run over to BreakZONE for a shift I took over for someone. I parked in a metered spot, since there was about an hour until 5 and I couldn't park anywhere that needed a pass. However, I was busy trying to make sure all the doors were locked and such and making sure I was clocking in on time, when I realized I forgot to put money in the meter! I ran back out there, and naturally...Parking Services had JUST put a ticket on my brand new car! *ack!* Nothing I could do about it, so I left the ticket there so I wouldn't have to put money in the meter, and I went to work.

I've had it for a month and a half month, and I just love driving it around! That weekend after I got it, my dad and I drove it up to New Jersey! It was comfortable and drives so smoothly. I love it! Everyone says that the car suits me. I'm glad to have a car that is ME! :D

Over a year ago, I got a 16gb refurbished iPod Touch...I think Kevin helped me get it for my birthday. So I decided to be like Chris Pirillo and do an UnBoxing video! Which I put on youtube...

I am still getting comments! Kevin says it's because I used Chris Pirillo's name, even though I spelled it wrong...oops, I keep getting views on it. So I just wanted to take a moment, and complain/laugh about the comments I get on this video.

First of all, going to that guy's...girl's...Channel page thing, their age is 38! They are 38, and they can't spell. Second of all, Mr. nLjune16nineteen71 (nice user name...), it's a lot more difficult to get an iPhone. At the time, I was not able to get a contract with AT&T and deal with a monthly phone bill. I was so excited when the iPod Touch came out because that meant I could almost enjoy having an iPhone without all the hassle! And because I had my iPod Touch and waited a year, I now have an iPhone 3GS!

Wasn't trying to get a good quality video, just wanted to have fun. I used the camera on my MacBook. But thanks for your unnecessary suggestion.

Ha...I wouldn't be bragging about being a Wahoo...they can't even beat a team in a lower division then them, and their mascot can't stay on its horse! GO HOKIES!

Thanks! :) It's always good to have nice comments to make up for the unnecessary ones!

There are more ridiculous comments, but a lot of them are vulgar, so you can choose to look at them yourselves! Of course, there are the ones that say I'm sweet, cute and that "Virginia Tech rox!" It just boggles my mind why some people feel the need to comment the way they do, and why they can't learn how to spell. I'd love for Molly Wood to read youtube comments the way she reads the emails she gets, hilarious! :D

Anyway, I think I'll finish complaining now!

I wanted to do it too!

What!? You wanna do it too? Then go HERE and enjoy. :)

On Friday, Kevin and I celebrated 4 years together! We alternate who plans the anniversary, so it's not always Kevin taking me out, because it's for both of us, why should he always pay?!

Our first anniversary, Kevin surprised me with dinner at Mountain Lake! My favorite movie, Dirty Dancing, was filmed there and I absolutely love the area, it's so gorgeous! The picture was taken when we were standing in the gazebo where many scenes of Dirty Dancing were shot! It was awesome! When we were there, a couple in the table behind us got engaged. Aww.

For our second anniversary, I took us to Bookbinders. A nice restaurant in Christiansburg. And when I say nice, we had $30 steaks! I think it is now called Blackstone Grill. It was really good though, I highly recommend it! Just be prepared for a pricey check.

For year three, Kevin surprised me (note that Kevin surprises me, but I never surprise Kevin! I'm so bad at that!) with brunch at Chateau Morrisette and a wine tasting! I'd always wanted to go, so I was super excited that he was taking me! The picture is actually from when we went to a chocolate/wine pairing for Valentine's Day after our three year anniversary, but I happened to not have a picture of us on the actual day. Which is surprising since I always take pictures! I do have some picture of the Chateau from that day, but just not us! Damn!

This year! We went to the Summit in Christiansburg, which is a big house up on a hill. Very fancy! I had bought a dress and a cute little hat for the occasion. Dawn even came over to the condo and curled my hair for me! They gave us so much food, we were both nearly comatose when we got back to the condo. We decided to watch Dirty Dancing, since it is my favorite, and because Patrick Swayze died earlier that week. Here is us from Friday (finally getting to celebrate our anniversary, on our actual anniversary!):

Now it's up to Kevin to figure out what we're going to do for the big 5 year anniversary next year! So happy it'll be on a Saturday, too! :D

On my old car, I had a VT license plate that said "WTHR." That was "weather" without the vowels, and not many people got it...even knowing me. What the heck? So with my new car, I wanted something me, but something people would understand!

I racked my brain trying to come up with something good! I've always wanted this one...

However, I knew it was already taken because I always see that license plate at Lowe's! I played around with it, but nothing sastisfied me. I thought I'd "just see" if...

was available. And it was! Except, I'm not Taylor C. yet, and who knows if I even will be!

So I started to get fun with it, and looked up words like...

which was available at the time, but since I looked that up and twittered about it, it's been taken! I wouldn't want it anyway. It's not as personal as I would like for my personalized plate!

So I started thinking about what I liked...Teal!

Except my mom pointed out that my car isn't teal, and so it would look weird to have that on my blue car. Damn!

I ended up settling for this one:

Even went to the DMV to get it, but since I had JUST gotten my plates from the dealership, the DMV told me they hadn't processed it yet, so I had to wait at least a month to get new plates. Darn!

So I waited and thought about my license plate more. The one I settled for was me, but it was also a lot of other people who graduated in 2009. Plus I didn't like the idea of having a "1" for an "i". (I actually saw the 09 HOKIE plate I wanted drive by me the other day! Kinda cool, but I also thought they were the reason for my "1"! ...I'm a dork)

Finally I realized the plate that was me, and I could use letters and not numbers, except I did have to leave a letter out, but it was the same letter in both words, so I thought that was kind of neat. :)

I love it! I also picked that plate because it matches my car! I ordered it, finally got it, and Kevin put it on my car this past weekend. It's perfect.

Please don't stalk me. Thanks.

~Taylor~

P.S. If you don't get why it isn't me...hokielove is my twitter username! (And it's my facebook username too, had to get that after we were able to pick facebook usernames!)

[someone who can pull off the TWITTER license plate...Biz Stone!]

This past Saturday, #11 Virginia Tech played #9 Miami in a constant downpour. I went to this game, for the first time, as a real person. As Taylor White. I didn't go as Slideshow Bob's daughter, and I didn't go as a Marching Virginian. I searched high and low for tickets to the game. It was an unfortunate reason why I was able to get two tickets to the game from my Tau Beta Sigma MC Mom, Lauren, but I am grateful to her for letting me have them. Especially since I got them for $10 each when tickets were going for hundreds! Not only were these tickets, they were student tickets. So also for the first time, I got to experience the student section! I've always sat with the band at a game, and sitting with the students was a crazy, new experience. Especially since it was pouring down rain!

The night before the game, I knew I needed to get a poncho. I wasn't about to sit in the rain without one, even in a waterproof jacket! I had read a tweet from one of the local news stations that people were buying out the poncho's at all the Virginia Tech stores. I wanted to avoid that mess. So I guessed that Wal-Mart would be the best bet. I hoped to get a maroon poncho or a clear one to let the maroon show through. (Miami was suppose to be the Maroon Effect game, but people didn't seem to care what color poncho they had on as long as it kept them dry.) I could not find a poncho in Wal-Mart. I looked in the VT section and I looked in the outdoors/camping section. No such luck! Kevin was looking for a portable radio because he wanted to listen to Bill Roth during the game. He was not lucky in Wal-Mart either. On to the mall we went, I to Dick's and he to Radio Shack. I found a sort of clear poncho for $5 and I was happy with that. Kevin found a decent portable radio at Radio Shack, so he settled for that one. (I tried talking him into buying a new iPod Nano, but no such luck!) While at Dick's, somehow Kevin decided that he was going to get me a winter coat. He does not like my bright orange, puffy coat I usually wear, and he loves his North Face jacket that he got from the Athletic department when he worked with them. I was astounded he wanted to buy me such a nice coat! We looked around, and I found a gorgeous pink/purple jacket that had the inner shell you can take out and wear just that part! I love it. And I am so glad he got it for me, because I ended up wearing it at the game, and it kept me so warm and dry. It was fabulous!

The game started at 3:30pm, so we left the Condo to walk down to the game at 2:00pm. Having stepped out on the Balcony for a bit and discovering just how chilly it was, I knew I wanted to wear my new jacket, and all of it, not just the inner shell as I had planned. It was two miles from the condo to the stadium, and it took us an hour to finally get to the stadium through all the rain and crowds. Plus Kevin had to pee twice on our walk from the condo to our seats in the stadium, even though he had peed twice before we left! He says he drank a lot of tea. But geez!

Anyway...the game was WET. Obviously. It reminded me so much of the Boston College game, where in the last 6 minutes we totally blew the game! At least this time in the last six minutes, we had a comfortable lead. I was still worried they would come back some how in the last minutes and steal our win. But, that didn't happen! Us beating Miami that badly was totally worth dealing with the rain!

Now I want to share some of the pictures I got, while trying to keep my camera as dry as possible!

A unique way to keep a cast dry...

My view for the first half. I'm really short, so even standing on the seat didn't help me see over the taller people in front of me! Luckily a lot of people left during halftime, so I could see better in the second half!

Shannon and Wes! Please excuse her GREEN jacket, but she was just trying to stay dry.

The people behind this guy (they knew him) kept filling up this guy's poncho hood, we were wondering how full it was going to get!

There were a bunch of guys on the field fixing the holes in the field, it just reminded me of Pretty Woman at that horse polo match thing, when all the rich ladies were in their heels filling in the holes!

Shannon texting under Erin's poncho. Totally awkward looking.

They wouldn't let the MVs on the field during halftime because "they would ruin the field," so they played their show in the stands! ...without the woodwinds, because their wussy instruments can't handle the rain. Not like you could hear them anyway! :D

Kevin and I at the game! :)

We win!!!

People rushing the field, despite being asked not to. That poor field! Luckily we have an away game this weekend!

I had a great time at the game! Can't wait for the BC game! It's MV Band Day so a lot of Alumni are coming back to march! (Including me!)
