We've been waiting for a half way decent snow. The first day of March brought it to us! Blacksburg got about 7 inches of snow! We haven't had snow like this in a while. Thankfully the bulk of the storm waited to hit until all of us at Smith Mountain Lake for the TBS retreat were able to get back to Blacksburg! Driving through those mountains in a bad snow storm is not good. It was snowing but it wasn't sticking yet. At about the time it had just started sticking I did go over to Kevin's house and it was slippery and scary to drive up there! By the time we were hungry and went out again, they had plowed all the roads and driving was a lot better. However, by the time I left Kevin's house for home around 10, it had started to do this weird snow sleet sort of thing and the roads were all covered again. Scary! It took me three times as long to get home than usual. I made it home, and I saw lightning?! Woah!? Apparently the winds and stuff were so crazy that it was creating snow thunder.

I took some pictures around my house this morning!

This is the view from my house:

And on our deck, you can see how much it snowed on our table:

Hopefully I'll get some more pictures later!

Oh goody! I'm excited to see these wonderful pictures of snow. I just love the now. The good about these views is the snow hadn't been touched or walked on (from the time you had taken them). Nevertheless, we had gotten some snow in Tennessee to start the good month of March.
