The Great Plains Storm Chase 2008

It looks like I got a spot! I'm going in May to chase storms all around the US! Mainly in the Great Plains, but we'll go where the storms lead us. This will be so awesome because i've never been in the middle of the States before. I've been up and down the East coast, up and down the West coast (just California) and down to New Orleans and Dallas and up to Chicago. But never in the middle! Just think of all the things I'll see. And learn! Oh, this will be awesome. I am so excited.

Dave Carroll, the professor who puts this on, talked about it with us last night and told us what to expect. There is obviously a lot of travelling. He was talking about how they were in North Carolina one day, and drove all the way up to Illionis the next. I know it's going to be one of the most amazing experiences of my life and thanks to my parents, I get to go!!! :)

A really cool thing is National Geographic is going to send cameras/a camera guy along and do a documentary (possibly) on us! And by cameras...I mean HD Camera's! That'd be so amazing. And, we'll have a tracker with us...GPS or ARPS, I forget which one, but you can go to a website (definitely putting that up when I know what it is) and track us where we are right at that moment. Then the next day, if we got anything good, it'll be up on the website! So you can follow and watch what we're doing. We might even have a webcam where you can see exactly what we're seeing when we're chasing. That is so awesome! I love technology.

I found their blog from the 2007 Storm Chase. So check it out because it gets me even more excited.

I will definitely be talking about it more when it gets closer. And post the links to follow us. I'm so excited!!!!
