Still all 70s Classics!

Carly Smithson is up first singing, "Crazy On You." This song is on Guitar Hero II! Anyway...she sounds fantastic! Randy says it was good toward the end, but the beginning was not so great, with pitch problems. But by the middle of the song she got it together. Paula is glad she is healthy. She says she is an amazing singer! Simon thought it was a much better performance than last week. Though not yet has she connected with the right song, but she is a fantastic singer. She is the girl that everyone has to beat.

Syesha Mercado sings, "Me and Mrs. Jones." Tricky...twitching "Mrs." to "Mr." Kind of a boring performance. Sounds good, but just standing there holding to the mic, just didn't do a whole lot for me. Randy says it wasn't a great song choice, he wants her to pick songs where she can really belt it out. Paula says on the softer notes is where she falls off pitch, but she likes what she did though. Simon thought it was a bit indulgent, the song wasn't written for a girl so it was silly to sing the song. He was a bit put off in the beginning, and it wasn't a clever choice.

Brooke White sings, "You're So Vain." I still think the guitar takes away from the performance. I'd rather the band play that part and she just sing. It's so better when she stops playing the guitar! She sounds so great! Good job Brooke! Randy said it was a great song choice but she didn't bring anything to the song. Paula said it was a perfect song choice for her, it totally suits her. Everyone was diggin' it! Simon says that he absolutely loved it!!! She sang it well and didn't sound old fashioned.

Ramiele Malubay sings, "Don't Leave Me This Way." Her voice is so amazing. I loved that performance! Good song choice! Randy thought it was just okay vocally, the song choice was weird. What Randy?! It was great! Paula says she is one to beat, her vocals are truly amazing, but she feels the same way as Randy. Simon agrees with Paula, he says he has heard that song so many times at "ghastly" weddings. He won't remember this performance so well, but he thinks she is one of the top three singers. I still liked it!

Kristy Lee Cook sings, "You're No Good." She's not as strong of a singer as some of the others. Kevin says, "Not memorable, I'm bored!" He's right. She's not a bad singer, but it's kind of like, shut up, I'm bored with you already. Cute top though. That last note was a little...muddy? Randy says it is 100% improvement from last week, and a good song choice, he liked it. Paula says she is back! Simon says this week was a huge improvement, but he doesn't know what type of singer she is. He thinks she has real potential. Good reviews for a not so great performance...

Amanda Overmyer sings, "Carry On My Wayward Son." This is one of my all time favorite songs...and is also on Guitar Hero II. I don't like her singing it though...eek. She is ruining it!!! NO!!! AHH!!! Randy said there was too much melody, and too many band breaks and not the right song. Paula says she has some moves, she can dance. Simon didn't get it.

Alaina Whitaker sings, "Hopelessly Devoted to You." It was okay...eh...Randy didn't get it. Paula liked it. Simon said her grandma prepared her for this audition. HAHA. Oh goodness Simon. Only you...

Alexandrea Lushington sings, "If You Leave Me Now." It sounds pretty, but again...it's rather boring. Aaannnd...I forgot to pay attention to the judges. Oops. Oh well.

Kady Malloy sings, "Magic Man." What is she wearing?! It was okayish. Randy says he loves heart, but thinks she never settled onto the pitch. Paula said she sounded great when she powered but lost a bit on the low pitches. Simon is frustrated because everything she does on film is fantastic, but when she comes out and sings it doesn't seem to go anywhere.

Lastly we have Asia'h Epperson who sings, "All By Myself." It's not starting out too great. They saved the best for firsts...it has sort of gone down hill with these last few. Couldn't get that note out! The end was a tad better. But I didn't like that performance. Randy knows she has been sick but he thinks she did a really good job. Paula thought it was great, the ending brought it home. Simon says she wasn't a singer to pull off that song, she should have never attempted it, the song was too big for her and it was a silly decision.

Favorites: Carly Smithson and Brooke White
