Sorry this is so late! I've been pretty busy...

I wore:

Cat Got Your Tongue - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

Last Thursday I woke up at 7:30 (eek)! This is eek, because I have an 8:00 class. I live off campus so it takes me longer than most to get to campus...considering most already live on campus. So I threw some clothes on, that being the first Threadless shirt I came to. Needless to say, I got to class 9 minutes late.

Now for last Monday's shirts:

threadjan28.JPG

I LOVED one out of all of them:

I Wish I Were - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

It's cute and funny, of course I love it! The only thing wrong with it is it's on white, and that is very see-thru...but I don't mind wearing a red long-sleeve shirt under it anyway. I think this is one of the threadless shirts Kevin got me for Valentine's day. We'll find out! :)

Welcome to the #100th blog post on timeinablog.com!!!

For this blog post I would like to discuss Twitter. It's usually hard to explain twitter to someone who is not familiar with it. Twitter says it is: "Social networking and microblogging service utilizing instant messaging, SMS or a web interface." But most people wouldn't understand that, so you try and tell them it is like an away message...but not...or a facebook status. But it's not that either. So, basically, to find out what it is you have to just use it!

I love twitter. It is so easy to update and just give a quick blurb about what you're doing or thinking. It's a lot easier to update than this blog! While I've had pretty much no time for this, I almost always have time for twitter.

My first tweet was April 5, 2007:

first%20tweet.JPG

Little did I know 11 days later I'd be tweeting about shootings on Virginia Tech's campus:

416tweets.JPG

Kevin was tweeting from Pamplin Hall about what was going on around him.

kevintweets.JPG

A lot of people followed his tweets during what happened and have told them it helped them get through it. He's been tweeting since March 12th, 2007. He's the one who got me into it.

Almost a year since then and we are still into twitter. There isn't a day that goes by that I think, "Oh! I need to tweet that!" It is a lot of fun to read other's tweets and there is usually some article or joke that a fellow tweeter will put up to amuse you. It really helps with boredom.

So if you wonder what I've been up to because I haven't updated in a while, get a twitter account and start following me! There's your best bet. :) Because everyone loves a stalker. ;)

Today I am wearing:

Paperboy - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

I'm not really wearing this shirt for any particular reason except that the ones I grabbed before this one I had already worn and this was just the next one after! Fun story, right?

This week's shirts:

threadfeb04.jpg

I am soooo excited about the two reprints:

Runnin' Rhino - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

Geology - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

I've been wanting both these shirts since I first saw them! Kevin got them for me for Valentine's Day, so I can NOT wait! :) The Runnin' Rhino is so adorable! It wants to be a unicorn! Brilliant! And then I'm a Geology minor so I really connect with that shirt. So, I am very very happy they were reprinted! Though I am sad I missed out on the first editions!

Sometimes You Just Have To Let Go

Today was a very exciting day in that I got to drop Paleontology! Now, I was SO excited about this class. For many reasons. Mainly because I'm a huge Friends fan, and Ross is a Paleontologist, and I thought it would be so cool to know about what he did and all with dinosaurs. Problem one -- it's not about dinosaurs! What?! Yeah, I know. How lame is that? It's about any sort of fossils...from big mammal fossils to tiny itsy bitsy micro organisms that I have no idea how these people found in the first place, or why you would want to. I mean, these things were so small they had to start using Greek letters to explain how small they were. They also have ridiculous names like...dinoflaggulate or something like that. Anyway, it was all pretty confusing. Another reason I was taking it was for my Geology minor. I did some calculations, and in dropping it, it would not hurt my chances for getting all the credits I need for a Geology minor. It wasn't really geology oriented anyway. I really have not found these past 5 weeks in the course interesting at all. I also found out that the exam is short answer. What?! I'd have to memorize every detail of these tiny organisms that I don't care about at all. Yeah, no. Goodbye. So much for that. It's disappointing, really. I discussed it with my mom and she told me to drop it, so I am so relieved. Not to mention I have no class on Wednesdays and Fridays now, and only one class Monday, if you can even call it a class because it is a recitation for Psychology. So yay. Oh, and the lab was sooo horrible. It had a 30-40 minute lecture, then we drew pictures of fossils for an hour and a half, then we had to do an activity. I get it that we're suppose to look at features of the fossils, but drawing all those in a limited amount of time just made me look over features, and it was so horrible. AH! In labs I like to actually do real activities, with experiments and real learning! Anyway, it just sucked. I do not recommend it.

*new topic!*

I wish today had been Threadless Thursday. I am wearing:

Birds & The Bees - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

And I got so many comments on it! I never get comments on Threadless because I'm usually wearing layers over it, or I never see anyone. I should have saved this shirt for Thursday! Actually...I'm wearing a more Valentine's day themed shirt for Thursday...naturally because it is Valentine's Day. But Birds & the Bees is just one of those shirts that you have to really pay attention to get, so people would look at it and would wonder what it meant, then they would go, "OH! HAHA!" Every time. I love this shirt. :) I try not to wear it to work though, because it might be a tad inappropriate. But it is totally fine for class. :)

My day is barely over, since I have a class next and then a meeting and other stuff. So, craziness! The meeting is about Storm Chasing this summer. They take some students out to where the tornados and big storms are, and we chase them...in a sense. They keep us totally safe, naturally, but I know it'll be so awesome. I can't wait to go. It's from May 11-31, so it is a long time away from Kevin, but I know it'll be worth it and it will look fantastic on my resume! So stay tuned for more about that!

The Great Plains Storm Chase 2008

It looks like I got a spot! I'm going in May to chase storms all around the US! Mainly in the Great Plains, but we'll go where the storms lead us. This will be so awesome because i've never been in the middle of the States before. I've been up and down the East coast, up and down the West coast (just California) and down to New Orleans and Dallas and up to Chicago. But never in the middle! Just think of all the things I'll see. And learn! Oh, this will be awesome. I am so excited.

Dave Carroll, the professor who puts this on, talked about it with us last night and told us what to expect. There is obviously a lot of travelling. He was talking about how they were in North Carolina one day, and drove all the way up to Illionis the next. I know it's going to be one of the most amazing experiences of my life and thanks to my parents, I get to go!!! :)

A really cool thing is National Geographic is going to send cameras/a camera guy along and do a documentary (possibly) on us! And by cameras...I mean HD Camera's! That'd be so amazing. And, we'll have a tracker with us...GPS or ARPS, I forget which one, but you can go to a website (definitely putting that up when I know what it is) and track us where we are right at that moment. Then the next day, if we got anything good, it'll be up on the website! So you can follow and watch what we're doing. We might even have a webcam where you can see exactly what we're seeing when we're chasing. That is so awesome! I love technology.

I found their blog from the 2007 Storm Chase. So check it out because it gets me even more excited.

I will definitely be talking about it more when it gets closer. And post the links to follow us. I'm so excited!!!!

:-D

Kevin and I decided to give each other Valentine's Day presents today instead of waiting all day tomorrow, Tuesdays and Thursdays are our super busy days. I got him a Revision3 shirt and a shock mount. I'm still getting him a few other things, though! He got me a hot glue gun! I've always wanted one! It'll make life a lot simpler, I'm sure. He also got me an FM Transmitter! Yay! I've been wanting one since forever so I can play my ipod in my car. I'm always stealing his, and now he wants mine because it charges while it plays! Awesome. AND he got me SIX threadless shirts! Yay!

Yay! Awesome. I can't wait to wear them. I'm not wearing any of them for tomorrow's Threadless Thursday because none of them are Valentine-y and Smack! is! So, there you go. But I will be taking pictures soon to turn in for STP's! I have almost enough to get Happy End for free!

Thank you Kevin! :) Totally awesome. :)

G'Night!

Also, on twitter.com you can write "@username <3" and it'll show up like this:

I'm just so excited. It's fun, and loving, and perfect for today. Yay!

I am wearing today:

Smack! - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

I am wearing it, duh, because it is Valentine's Day! :) Kevin and I have plans tonight, and I hope it isn't too cold so I can take off my sweatshirt and show it off, but it has been really cold in all my classes today. It has been really ridiculous!

This week's shirts (black and white theme):

threadfeb11.jpg

I think this one is really cute:

Happy End - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

My goal is to get it for free through STP points. To get it for free, I just need to take a picture of me in a few more shirts! Yay! :) Since Kevin got me six shirts, and got me 4 STP while getting me those shirts, I am well on my way to getting that new shirt, and I'll probably give him credit for it, since it is his doing that I am able to get it for free! Yay Kevin! :)

Also, I am really confused why they didn't have any Valentine's Day shirts or a Valentine's day sale like last year! I guess it wasn't successful. I enjoyed it, but I couldn't find anyone who wanted the same shirt as me. Oh well though, I guess. I'm still getting a shirt for free. It'd be a lot easier to get it for free if it was $10 though!

Go buy some shirts!

~Taylor~

My thoughts and feelings about this are all kind of jumbled up. It makes me really confused, but I feel if I write down my thoughts, it might help my thought process, so please bare with me.

When I first heard about the shootings, I was in the Bookstore on campus, I didn't know I was hearing about shootings. I only half payed attention to what was being said on the radio they had playing, I feel absolutely horrible I didn't pay more attention. When I finally did get online and I saw the facebook groups, and the video clips from news, and tweets...reality hit. But it wasn't reality, exactly...it was a little less than a year ago, April 16th that was hitting me. So it made me so confused as to why I was re-living that, when I knew a long time had past...this wasn't our school being talked about. It was Northern Illinois University...a gunman and busted into a classroom in session and started shooting from the stage. Why?! Why another school? Why and how is this happening again? I would never wish upon another school what happened to us last year. And it makes me feel horrible that their experience makes me go back to our experience. I want to grieve for them, and be there for them. But it is so hard when our wounds have not healed. So as hard as I tried to focus on them, I kept going back to April 16th. A place I have no interest in re-living, and yet I know the media will make sure we re-live it on the one year anniversary. But I'm prepared for that, not today. Not on Valentine's Day, when I was out celebrating my relationship with Kevin and having fun and laughing, being totally oblivious as to what happened. Also, headlines keep saying 5 dead. No, it's four dead, anyone who goes into a crowded class room and starts shooting does not deserve to be recognized as dead or alive. Same goes as for that ass hole who did the shootings here. I just get so angry to think how could someone kill innocent people?! How did the Holocaust happen?! How did no one know it happened until after hundreds of thousands had already been killed? How can someone chain doors and slam into classrooms of students learning to better their futures and kill them?! How can some random guy go into a class room and shoot into the audience?! WHY? I don't understand it. I also don't quite agree with people saying, "Because people were so nice to us and did this and this for us then we should do it for them." Why can't we send them cards and our condolences anyway? If April 16th hadn't happened, would we not do that anyway? I just don't like them just using the memory of April 16th as an excuse, we don't need an excuse.

Anyway, that all was probably super confusing but I needed to get it out of my head. Maybe I can read it in the morning and try and make sense out of it then. I thank God for Kevin, because without him I don't think I would have been as composed as I was this evening...he really helped me, and I really appreciate it. He made me smile when I was really upset, and that's a huge accomplishment. Plus he showed me a great Valentine's Day night. I guess sometimes I just don't know how lucky I am!

Thanks for listening...or reading...or whatever.

My thoughts and Prayers are with the Huskies tonight.

~Taylor~

My mom and I went to Virginia Beach and back yesterday with a stop in Richmond on the way there. With MapQuest directions in hand, we headed off late around 7:45 (we were planning on leaving at 7). Our first goal was lunch at P.F. Chang's right when they opened, 11. We got some gas and got on 81, we were on our way! We were making some great time, we were 10 miles from the exit at 10:50, when all of a sudden we were stopped. Stopped stopped, not just very slow traffic, but completely stopped. We got out of our car and talked to the woman in the car in front of us and the man next to us. The woman had New York license plates and said her daughter is in her first year at Virginia. Barf. I tried to hold back my distaste. No, really, UVA is a great school, I just can't stand their football team, or their band...who were so rude to us when we visited. Anyway, we stood out there 30-40 minutes when we realized cars up the street were finally moving. So we said a quick goodbye to our new friends and jumped into our cars. We moved slowly along and passed the accident, I can't find anything about it on google, but there was probably more than one car involved, and the SVU looked like it had rolled over the railing and landed right side up then caught on fire. I have no idea if there had been any fatalities, since I can't find anything about it. But it looked rough. We finally made it to P.F. Chang's a little after 12 and quickly ordered. We had a yummy meal, emptied our bladders, and headed off again. This time our goal was Virginia Beach for the baby shower. The directions back to I-64 E were more confusing than the ones to get to P.F. Chang's! We ended up missing the merge with another road and so we got out at the first exit, and ended up in the little town of Carytown, which I think might be a little suburb of Richmond. We drove down Cary Street looking for any sort of signage that would take us to I-95 or I-64. Cary Street took us all the way into Richmond, we called my dad and had him look up directions from one of the stores we passed. We were two blocks from I-95! So we turned onto 14th street and hopped onto I-95 N which immediately led us to I-64 E! Way too complicated. Finally we were on our way, and had 45 minutes to go 2 hours. My mouth was a little funky from the garlic and the hot mustard I had had for lunch, and I think my mom's was too, so she suggested we stop at Hardee's or Arby's for a milkshake. I agreed, so we took the next exit that had a Hardee's. It was the same exit you would take to go to William and Mary! It was for some little town called Littlefoot or something. On our way to the Hardee's we saw a Sonic...much better. It was on the side of the road, so we had to find a spot to turn around. There was no spot to turn around, we were on a highway, not to mention a very un-marked highway so we had no idea where we were. The Hardee's had been on another exit within the exit we had gotten off on, LAME! So finally we came to an exit where we could get off then get back on the other side. My mom managed to get on the wrong side of the street that we needed to turn on, so after the light turned green, she did some fancy maneuvering and managed to get us back on the other street. So we drove back up toward the Sonic where we were trying to figure out how to get to the Sonic. I suggested to get off at one exit, but she thought it bypassed around the shopping area where it was, but the next exit had the street going away from the exit. We saw there was road where people were coming from, so we thought that was up a little bit more, we reached the exit for I-64 E and there was no access to that road! So we gave up. It was way too difficult! We gave up on getting a milkshake entirely and just headed on to Virginia Beach. We FINALLY got there an hour and 15 minutes late. She was opening presents, and it didn't seem like we missed too much. She being the new mom, Kathryn. There were three other girls there who were pregnant, and I think it startled my mom, and she probably didn't want me drinking the water from there. :P But she has to remember that these are military wives, and they get pregnant right away before their husband goes out to war or wherever they are sent. It was fun, and good to see Kathryn again. I'm sure it would have been more fun had I not gotten a searing headache while I was there. We left at about 6, we got a little lost leaving, but we stopped at a Starbucks and asked directions, so we made it back to 1-64 W! The rest of the trip went smoothly and we got home at 12:30 am. I crashed after that!

Also my fenching troll went for $10.50! I'm so excited. That's pretty awesome. :) My rocker troll is still up for grabs though if you want it!!!

I think I will be putting a couple more trolls up on ebay, so watch out for those! :)

~Taylor~

By now, my loyal readers, you know that I love foundmagazine.com. I go to it and laugh at all the interesting things people find. Well, today in my boredom I go to the website and what do you know? There, on today's find, it's from Blacksburg, VA found at Virginia Tech! Yay!

The find was by someone named Beth. She says, "This note was found at Virginia Tech outside of a professor's office one afternoon. This professor likes to listen to techno, so I found the note to be particularly fitting."

Good for you Beth. I'm always trying to find things for find, but it's hard. You only really find stuff when you're not looking for it anyway.

Happy President's Day.

~Taylor~

I went to the Vigil last night for NIU that Virginia Tech held for them. I wanted to go for NIU, of course, but I also wanted to go for VT, since I didn't go to the vigil we held for the 32. I had been feeling sick that day, and I really regret not going. But I think we were all there for the fallen Huskies and the fallen Hokies. It was pretty chilly, but Kevin and I huddled our hands around my candle. I think it burnt my glove! It was really beautiful, and I think that NIU will appreciate it, because we do know how they're feeling, and unfortunately we'll forever be connected because of our common tragedy. I really hope this doesn't happen again, ever. It needs to stop.

Here is a picture Kevin took from where we were standing last night:

And there is a gallery on Planet Blacksburg you should definitely check out.

~Taylor~

Theme tonight is the 60's!

The first guy up was David Hernandez. He sang "In the Midnight Hour."

I thought it was alright. I wasn't blown away by his performance.

Next is Chikezie. He sang "More Today Than Yesterday."

I didn't like his performance at all! I have to agree with Simon, wow, but I do. I wouldn't be surprised if he was one of the two gone. We'll see though, there are still 10 guys left. I really like his name though!

David Cook sang "So Happy Together."

I was a little nervous when he started it, but I really got into his performance! I really enjoyed it. I'm also glad he got rid of the red streaks in his hair.

Jason Yeager sang "Moon River."

Kevin says Jason reminds him of Clay Aiken. That's never good. I don't know, I think it wasn't horrible, but as Simon would say, "It's forgettable." I don't think I'd vote for him for this, but I doubt he'll be in the bottom two.

Next, "One (Is the Loneliest Number)," was sung by Robbie Carrico.

So I liked it, but it seemed lacking. I'm not sure exactly why I feel that way, but I do. He definitely did well enough to be safe this week! I agree with Ryan, he does look like Justin Timberlake!

The young, David Archuleta, was next singing, "Shop Around."

It was pretty good for someone that young. The lights were fun too. :) Given best performance of the night so far by Simon. Wow, good job David!

Next is Danny Noriega with, "Jail House Rock."

I feel that he's very egotistical, and people like that make me not like them very much...so going into it I don't like him. His performance seemed a bit rushed, but that might have been on purpose because of time constraints. It sounded pretty good, I hate to admit. Simon calls it, "Grotesque." Awesome.

Then it is Luke Menard up singing, "Everybody's Talkin'."

I didn't like it. He could be in the bottom two or three. Simon pulls out his "It's Forgettable" thing. Tough break Luke! Luke says he thinks people will remember his performance tomorrow, doubtful, unless their reading this!

Followed by Colton Berry, who sang, "Suspicious Minds."

First off, he's from right up 81 from me in Staunton, Va! Awesome. He did an awesome job! For that young, he sounded so much older. I will probably vote for him. Yay. Simon, "It was okay, it wasn't as bad as the other Elvis song." HA! Yeah well, the rest of Simon's comments weren't so positive, but I still liked his performance.

Garrett Haley sang, "Breaking Up is Hard to Do."

Ew...ew. I don't like it! I want to turn him off. Maybe I'm just not a fan of his style. The judges are right, he should have changed the performance up a bit, he didn't make it his own. It was so boring. Ah! Bottom!

Jason Castro opts to have an instrument and sang and played, "Daydream."

It seemed kind of cheesy. Kind of like someone singing to you in Hawaii as you get off the plane...eh, I'm not sure how I felt about it. He's probably not in the bottom. Wow, Simon gives him in the top two performances, right up there with David. I don't know about that...but whatever. I'm not voting for him!

Last, but not least, is Michael Johns with, "Light My Fire."

His accent reminds me of Heath. :( But he was awesome. He had a great performance! Great in to the night! :)

Favorite: Either David Cook or Michael Johns

~Taylor~

So after listening to the radio re-cap American Idol last night, I am definitely adding Colton Berry to my favorites. I liked how he sounded after hearing it again. One of the DJs thought Simon might take back what he said to Colton, but it sucked that he would do that after the voting was over. I was so tired last night I ended up not voting. I really hope he stays in the show!

Here is his performance last night:

Everyone is talking how much he looks like Ellen Degeneres, he even said it himself. That's really funny, and he does look like her! So the DJs were trying to compare other contestants to celebrities. They said that Garrett looked like Michael Bolton's illegitimate son with his hair and all. They were really hard on poor Garrett, saying he sounded like a girl. He kinda does, but that's just how he sounds, so oh well. I didn't like how he sang though. Maybe he'll be gone, but probably not because people probably sympathy voted him for all those mean things Simon said about him.

On another note, my rocker troll didn't sell, so I relisted it. It's up for grabs if you want it!!!

~Taylor~

Someone on twitter created a game for American Idol, where you can wager on who will get kicked off and who will win American Idol with *pretend* money. It seems like fun, so I joined in on the party! If you want to join too, go here so I get more money by inviting you!

Fun fun fun!

I will be not so live blogging the show tonight. Meaning, I'll be watching it recorded since I have meetings tonight. But, I'll be blogging it while I'm watching it later! I'm looking forward to the first results show tomorrow!

I'm watching this Tivo-ed, but I am still filling my blog out as if it was live! :)

Again, the theme is 60s! -- I don't remember there being theme's for this part of the competition last year, but, there may have been...

I'm going to add links on their names to the youtube video of their performance, I'm also going to go back and add them to the guys' names too. It'll be a quick way to be able to see their show! :)

Up first is Kristy Lee Cook singing, "Rescue Me."

She's okay. Her performance is really lack luster...she isn't really belting anything out. It was kind of bland. Though, she gets handicap points since she is sick.

Then, there is the Jersey girl, Joanne Borgella singing, "I Say A Little Prayer For You."

She sounds really good. I like her performance! She's definitely safe. I do not agree with Simon's critic at all! It was a lot better than he made it come across.

Alana Whitaker, who's birthday is today!, sings, "I Love You More Today."

She looks a little like Carrie Underwood. She did really well. She is safe tonight for her birthday, definitely! She actually got a good review from Simon, despite him not knowing the "corny" song.

Amanda Overmyer sang, "Baby, Please Don't Go."

She sang the song well, but I don't think I like that type of song...That's funny that Simon thought she forgot the words in the middle when she was scatting. I think enough people will have liked that particular song to keep her in tonight.

The trade show model, Amy Davis, sang, "Where the Boys Are."

I'm covering my ears!!! I know, how am I typing? I'm that talented. Listening to her makes me nauseated! OUCH! I was wincing the entire time. Please be in the bottom two!!!! It was soooo horrible!

Next is Brooke White, who sang, "So Happy Together."

I love this song!!! For the most part, it was really good, the lower notes seemed a little off...I guess, but other than that, she's safe! Yay! Because I really like her. I hope she gets into the top 12.

Alexandrea Lushington sang, "Spinning Wheel."

It wasn't fabulous, but she performed it very well. Very fun to watch!

The Britney Spears impersonator, Kady Malloy, sang, "."

She sounds pretty good...a few iffy spots, but over all it sounded nice. She looks a little weird when she sings, like she is angry. I agree with Randy that it seemed constrained, she does need to just let loose and be who she is.

The girl who lost her dad, Asia'h Epperson, sang, "Piece of My Heart."

The judges seemed to like it, but I did not like it at all! Play her performance, but don't watch it, listen to it...do you still like it? She doesn't finish her words...no no no. She can go.

Tiny Ramiele Malubay sang, "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me."

She just doesn't sound like how she looks! She has such a large, broad voice for such a tiny person! She sang it very well. Excellent job! Definitely safe.

The girl with "yes" in her name, Syesha Mercado, sang, "Tobacco Road."

Her smile is gorgeous! My mom says, "She's always wearing scarves or something on her neck!" I think she sang that very well, she kind of stood still for the upbeat sound of the song, but it was really good! She's safe. Definitely.

Irish tattoo artist, Carly Smithson, sang, "Shadow of Your Smile."

Except for a few parts, I thought she sung it really well. I'm glad she covered her tattoo up, I don't really like big tattoos like that. But she really belted out a lot of those notes!

Favorites: Brooke White and Ramiele Malubay

Results in less than an hour and a half!!!

~Taylor~

Guys up first!

Garrett is out!!! Awesome! Aww, I'm mean, but really, I didn't like him at all. I really don't like that they make them perform again...I mean, we obviously didn't like him, so why force us to watch him sing again?! Also, he probably got the boot because he never had much camera time before he got in the top 24, so no one really knew who he was.

Next up it is the girl's turn to see who gets voted off!

Kristy is safe!

Amy Davis is gone...surprise surprise! She was SO bad last night! Good job America!

They seem to have gotten the obvious ones out first, then they might have a little fun freaking the contestants out!

Paula's Video

Joanne and Amanda up...and everyone else is safe. Shock!!! No way!

I think it will be Amanda...

OH! Joanne?! NO WAY! MISTAKE! I demand a recount!!!! She did great! Goodness...

Poor girl. :(

Well, I called one of the girls, haha. Now for the last guy!

Chikezie and Colton are up. NOT COLTON! NOT COLTON! Chikezie did horrible. Make him go!!!

NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT COLTON! WTF?! NO WAY! SHIT! I need to vote! :(

That is so sad. :( Those last two were such a mistake!

Goodness.

Theme tonight is 70's classics.

First up tonight is the Australian, Michael Johns. He sings, "Go Your Own Way." I don't think he is quite up to his potential, the notes when he sings the chorus seems a little forced. I still enjoyed it. He's good! Randy liked it, said it wasn't his best. Paula said he had the crowd working, and he's a seasoned performer and charming. Simon said he coasted along, it was his weakest performance.

Jason Castro is the next contestant up, singing, "I Just Want to Be Your Everything." I like it today. I don't like that they can perform with instruments though, it takes away from their performance a little. But it sounded good, so yay. Randy says that it is all cool with the guitar, but if you take away the guitar, the vocals were okay. Paula thought it was better than Randy was saying, and says he had a clever choice with the song. She requests that he gets rid of the guitar. Simon thought it was horrible, his vocals were weak. Simon thought he looked uncomfortable in the performance. He also keeps saying some weird word, "smulchy?"

The acapella-est, Luke Menard, is up next with, "Killer Queen." I love Queen, but I don't like his performance. It didn't really show off any sort of vocal range, and was right around the same note the whole time. So, I'm going with a no...Randy says he chose a tough song?! No way. Maybe because there was a lot of words?! Paula said he picked the right song. It was a great week for him. Simon says it was a mistake because he is always going to be judged with the original. He said the singer of that song had charisma and a personality, and he didn't. It was verging on whiny. I agree with Simon for once! ...or twice.

The rocker Robbie Carrico sings, "Hot Blooded," next. Kevin's comments next to me are, "Karaoke, not even singing." I don't know...it isn't is best performance, I know that. But it isn't terrible. Okay, it kind of fell apart toward the end there, so...I'm nervous for him. Randy says he isn't sure if rock is his thing. Paula says, "How does anyone know who you are but you?" She thinks he played it a little bit safe this week, and says sometimes you can lose your personality and character when you play it safe. Randy says rock is like an attitude, it isn't something you have to prove. Simon gets in that he doesn't have to get so defensive about it, but he thought it was a good vocal tonight. Wow.

Danny Noriega sings, "Superstar." I hate this guy's attitude, but he is a good singer. It's just you wish he would be bad and totally blow it so he can be GONE! Randy says there was some problems, he felt he could speed it up and he was thinking too much. He needs to let it go, and not think what he needs to do with it. Paula thinks he has amazing vocal skills, and agreed with Randy. Simon says, last week was a disaster, this one was better. Simon likes how he stands out in the crowd and he looks good on camera.

Former gymnast, David Hernandez, sings, "Papa Was a Rolling Stone." The faces he makes when he is singing are really weird! Other than that, he sounded pretty good. It didn't start out too great, but he really brought it together in the end. Randy, check this out dog! He says this is the David Hernandez they fell in love with, he says that was hot right there. Paula says his voice is so pure it pierces right through the heart. Simon says that was the best vocal of the night so far. Good job David, you pulled through it tonight!

Jason Yeager sings, "Without Love." He moves around too much, it makes me sick watching him. I do not like this at all, it sounds horrible! Especially those longer notes, they sound off. Seems confident though. Randy says, that wasn't a singers kind of song and was very pitchy and karaoke. Paula says it was fun to see this side of him, she says it is a song without many notes in it. Simon says it was corny and he is just a quite good singer and can't perform very well. I wouldn't be surprised if he was in the bottom two.

The contestant from Inglewood, Chikezie, sings, "I Believe to My Soul." It was pretty good. Randy says Chikezie is back. He loved it. Paula thinks it was brilliant and fun. Simon says he looks better and sounds better.

David Cook is next with, "All Right Now." He pulled off playing the guitar well. I liked the performance. It was fun! Randy liked how it was like a real rock show, he really really liked it and it was a smart choice of song. Paula says the band is on fire tonight, and David has got it. Simon adds, that it was solid, but he didn't like the interview before hand with the crosswords. He thought it was too boring and that he doesn't have charisma.

Last is David Archuleta with, "Imagine." This is an amazing song. I love it. And this kid can really sing it. It's an interesting take to it. Great job! I really liked his performance. It wasn't fast, but it didn't make me bored! Randy, "dog, that's one of the best vocals I ever heard on this show!" Paula says, it was one of the most moving performances she ever heard and that he is destined for super stardom!. Simon says he is the one to beat, and now there are 19 very miserable contestants tonight. Awesome. I'm voting for him!!!

Favorite...duh, David Archuleta!!!

Still all 70s Classics!

Carly Smithson is up first singing, "Crazy On You." This song is on Guitar Hero II! Anyway...she sounds fantastic! Randy says it was good toward the end, but the beginning was not so great, with pitch problems. But by the middle of the song she got it together. Paula is glad she is healthy. She says she is an amazing singer! Simon thought it was a much better performance than last week. Though not yet has she connected with the right song, but she is a fantastic singer. She is the girl that everyone has to beat.

Syesha Mercado sings, "Me and Mrs. Jones." Tricky...twitching "Mrs." to "Mr." Kind of a boring performance. Sounds good, but just standing there holding to the mic, just didn't do a whole lot for me. Randy says it wasn't a great song choice, he wants her to pick songs where she can really belt it out. Paula says on the softer notes is where she falls off pitch, but she likes what she did though. Simon thought it was a bit indulgent, the song wasn't written for a girl so it was silly to sing the song. He was a bit put off in the beginning, and it wasn't a clever choice.

Brooke White sings, "You're So Vain." I still think the guitar takes away from the performance. I'd rather the band play that part and she just sing. It's so better when she stops playing the guitar! She sounds so great! Good job Brooke! Randy said it was a great song choice but she didn't bring anything to the song. Paula said it was a perfect song choice for her, it totally suits her. Everyone was diggin' it! Simon says that he absolutely loved it!!! She sang it well and didn't sound old fashioned.

Ramiele Malubay sings, "Don't Leave Me This Way." Her voice is so amazing. I loved that performance! Good song choice! Randy thought it was just okay vocally, the song choice was weird. What Randy?! It was great! Paula says she is one to beat, her vocals are truly amazing, but she feels the same way as Randy. Simon agrees with Paula, he says he has heard that song so many times at "ghastly" weddings. He won't remember this performance so well, but he thinks she is one of the top three singers. I still liked it!

Kristy Lee Cook sings, "You're No Good." She's not as strong of a singer as some of the others. Kevin says, "Not memorable, I'm bored!" He's right. She's not a bad singer, but it's kind of like, shut up, I'm bored with you already. Cute top though. That last note was a little...muddy? Randy says it is 100% improvement from last week, and a good song choice, he liked it. Paula says she is back! Simon says this week was a huge improvement, but he doesn't know what type of singer she is. He thinks she has real potential. Good reviews for a not so great performance...

Amanda Overmyer sings, "Carry On My Wayward Son." This is one of my all time favorite songs...and is also on Guitar Hero II. I don't like her singing it though...eek. She is ruining it!!! NO!!! AHH!!! Randy said there was too much melody, and too many band breaks and not the right song. Paula says she has some moves, she can dance. Simon didn't get it.

Alaina Whitaker sings, "Hopelessly Devoted to You." It was okay...eh...Randy didn't get it. Paula liked it. Simon said her grandma prepared her for this audition. HAHA. Oh goodness Simon. Only you...

Alexandrea Lushington sings, "If You Leave Me Now." It sounds pretty, but again...it's rather boring. Aaannnd...I forgot to pay attention to the judges. Oops. Oh well.

Kady Malloy sings, "Magic Man." What is she wearing?! It was okayish. Randy says he loves heart, but thinks she never settled onto the pitch. Paula said she sounded great when she powered but lost a bit on the low pitches. Simon is frustrated because everything she does on film is fantastic, but when she comes out and sings it doesn't seem to go anywhere.

Lastly we have Asia'h Epperson who sings, "All By Myself." It's not starting out too great. They saved the best for firsts...it has sort of gone down hill with these last few. Couldn't get that note out! The end was a tad better. But I didn't like that performance. Randy knows she has been sick but he thinks she did a really good job. Paula thought it was great, the ending brought it home. Simon says she wasn't a singer to pull off that song, she should have never attempted it, the song was too big for her and it was a silly decision.

Favorites: Carly Smithson and Brooke White
