Earlier in August, I was having breathing issues. Whenever I would inhale, it would hurt...like something was pricking me. So finally Kevin convinced me to go to the doctor. I did, and after all the usual doctor breathing tests the doctor decided he didn't know what it was, gave me an inhaler and told me if it didn't go away in a few days to use that, and if it still didn't go away they'd have to use an X-Ray. But he didn't know what was wrong. It went away 3 days later (without the inhaler).

Did I really need to go to the doctor then? Waste of time!!!

Today, I've been coughing pretty bad. Probably because of the game a week ago (you know, the one no one mentions in fear of someone bursting out in tears) where I was yelling and screaming at the top of my lungs in pouring down rain for four hours. The next day my throat hurt but everything else seemed fine. But since then it has gradually gotten worse, and yesterday when I tried playing my trombone, I just couldn't stop coughing. So everyone told me to go to the doctor...everyone being Kevin, his grandma, and my mom. I did today. She did all those doctor tests and stuck a swab down my throat and took it to be tested for strep throat. It came back negative so she is sending it somewhere to have a slower, more in depth test on it and she said I'll be called Saturday if it is positive. She gave me a bunch of cough medicine and told me it was probably viral and it'll go away eventually and then shoved me out the door.

Like I said, waste of time.

So next time, I am almost certain there is no way Kevin is going to talk me into going to the doctors.

I did a little "Fall Cleaning" on my blog. I cleaned up some of the side bar blocks that I didn't want anymore/never used and updated my Gift Wish List (check it out...when you're in a generous mood ;-)). I'm also going to go through and see if I can find more interesting blogs and clean up my blog roll.

I'm still coughing. I can't really tell if it has gotten any better. My throat still hurts and the medicine the doctor gave me doesn't help (it might make the coughing less intense). I'm tired of coughing, and I'm sure everyone else around me is tired of it too.

Thursday night was a lot better than the previous Thursday night. LOADS better. Everyone was a lot happier the following Friday too! :) I stayed in most of Friday morning trying to feel better, but didn't really have any luck. I went to work in the afternoon. Kevin and I went out to dinner to Kobe. He has ACC Select 3 times this weekend. He had it after we have dinner for volleyball, right now for soccer, and tomorrow afternoon for soccer.

I've been doing crafts and stuff while he has been busy. I've really gotten into it for some reason. I made pop-up halloween cards and I've been making a 3D movable card for Christin and Ryan's engagement.

Speaking of which, their engagement party is in a couple weeks! I'm so excited. I'll get to wear my black dress that I bought for Kevin's birthday cruise last year again! I haven't really had a chance/wanted to buy a new dress.

I'll get to buy an awesome new dress for Ring Dance in March. I should probably start looking! And maybe in my search I'll find a nice cocktail dress for Bandquet in January. That's always fun!

That's it for my blabbering right now. I'm sure I'll have something more interesting to say tomorrow or later next week.

Don't forget to turn your clocks back an hour before you go to bed tonight!

How about a FOUND!:

--Ahh...the drama of middle/high school --

Hey! So I got my new MacBook today!!!! I'm so excited. So far it has been fabulous. Here is a picture I took with photobooth earlier today!

Photo%201.jpg

That is using photobooth with the movable backround images. You can also make images behind you like Paris, fish, the beach at sunset, and bunches of other things, as well as all the usual fun things photobooth has always had.

I'm excited :) I'm still searching for a name for my macbook, so any suggestions would be fantastic!

Oh, and I'm still coughing. Blah.

~Taylor~

I'm couching right now. How fun.

This is me and Jenn at the couches:

Photo%2011.jpg

What fun. I have class in half an hour. Not so much fun. We're just going to sit there and talk, and it's even harder to sit through that class now that I know I don't need it for my major anymore, since they changed the policy. BLAH! I wish that I could afford to lose these credits, then I'd withdraw from the class. Ah, dreams.

Oh, so I was looking at FOUND and I found (haha) this and thought it was pretty funny:

The person who sent it in says, "In a way it encapsulates what's wrong with today's society: the notion that two wrongs make a right."

Very true.

ANYWAY

Have a good day.

~Taylor~

My new MacBook's name is Ruby Ernesta. First it started out as Ernest. Because I love that movie The Importance of Being Ernest with Reese Witherspoon (who I also love). But then I got to thinking...my MacBook looks more like a girl, and a girl can't be named Ernest...well, I personally wouldn't name a girl Ernest. So I put an "a" on to the end...to make it more girly..."Ernesta." Then Kevin and I were talking about his grandparents...how his grandpa is really nice, and how awesome it is that his grandma's name is Ruby. Then I decided to add it on to my MacBook's name "Ernesta Ruby"...but Kevin told me that "Ruby Ernesta" sounded better, and I agreed. He also said that Ruby is some type of code or something...I forget. But it fits with a computer. So that is how Ruby Ernesta was born...well, how she got her name.

Also tons and tons of kudos to Kevin for helping me to get my MacBook working on my home wireless! It only took about 2.5 hours. Haha. Thanks soooo much! :)

As soon as my keyboard protector and the skin for Ruby Ernesta comes in, I'll put pictures up!

~Taylor~

Something from FOUND to make you giggle:

(also check out today's find)

Zoey and I Having Thermal Fun

Zoey and I were playing with Ruby Ernesta's PhotoBooth effects. I really liked how the thermal picture came out:

Photo%2012.jpg

Today was alright. Kinda busy. I'll talk about THAT later. But I also had to present my paper in front of the class. I felt like a total idiot. I was #5, and today was the first day of presentations. The first girl had a tri-fold board filled with stuff about her paper. The second girl had an outline for everyone, time lines for people to check out, and a map she had basically made herself. The third guy who went had a power point. And the girl who went right before me had an outline of her paper for everyone on card stock with fancy font. I had...index cards with notes that I was going to talk about. I was thinking, did I miss the part where we were suppose to have a visual?! Luckily, Ruby Ernesta was with me and she came to the rescue! My paper was basically on how today's media is affecting how young girls view their body image. I had mentioned in my paper about how if you google image "young actress" what images would show up. (Basically pretty, skinny, sexual) So I pulled that up on Ruby Ernesta and used that as my little "visual." What sucks is that I ALMOST got out of presenting today. Darnit. Haha. The first three had taken up an hour of class, and our class is an hour and fifteen minutes long. So she rushed the fourth person to fit me in. I was like, crap! Because I had been brainstorming all these things I could bring in for my presentation. So much for that.

Anyway, I should probably get back to cleaning. We have relatives coming in this weekend for the FSU game, and we need to make everything sparkling! Blah.

~Taylor~

How about a find from FOUND?

I got to watch my first LIVE taping of one of Chris Pirillo's little videos he'll put up on youtube and such. That's exciting :) I even chatted in the chat. I said "I just got a macbook monday, I'm in love!" and someone said, "first macbook?" and I said "yes, i'm still learning." and that was it...but i'm a total noob. But I'm in there to see if I can win his little give-a-ways he does. He is giving away TWO things today! So...we'll see. :)

Also, my macvatar.com skin came in today! Since I am talking about them I think they should give me a discount if i buy another one...which i may, because they are totally awesome. I also told Courtney about it today. So there might be some more business for them I am creating. Haha. The keyboard protector also came in. First, can I tell you I paid $5.95 in S&H and it came in a regular envelope with the stamp cost of 58 cents?! But, whatever, it does it's job, except the bottom of it is curled up and won't stay down. So that's a little lame.

So since these things came in...I have pictures!!!

My New MacBook!!!

Can anyone explain to me what is wrong with this picture?

Ironic

Haha. Kevin and I were at the U-Scan in Food Lion when he notice the two magazines pictured above. One saying, "Dr. Phil Divorce Blow-Up!" and the other, "Dr. Phil & Robin McGraw tell you how to Wake Up Happy Every Day!" Right next to each other? It can really confuse you, especially that late at night. Haha. It was just very ironic and I had to have a picture of it. :)

Time for bed because it's GAME DAY! And I need my rest!

Let's go HOKIES!!!

~Taylor~

Haha. Oh I love the Wizard of Oz...it was on last night on TBS.

Anywho...there was a small matter of a football game on Saturday. AND WE WON!!! Beamer's first win over Bowden AND we denied him of his 300th win! It was pretty much amazing.

It was Hokies for the Hungry too, so we split up into 8 renegade bands and went around to all the tailgators to collect food and money. One of the women out on Chicken Hill had "Stick It In" M&Ms! Apparently she has been fighting with the M&M people to print it. Haha.

The "Stick It In" cheer was actually "hidden" in the drum break for half-time, people noticed. It's nice to know they were paying enough attention!

After the game was over I had to leave right away because my parents had to get home. So was going down to where the sit when I almost get trampled by people rushing the field. Kevin was with me since he was able to get away from video for a little bit, so he rescued me from the stampede of students...and one old guy.

YAY!:

We WON!!!

Yesterday we took the food we got Saturday over to the Christmas Store. We unloaded the truck with tons of shopping carts and counted them all. How many...I'm not sure. But we had a LOT of carts filled with cans.

Hokies for the Hungry

We then helped sort through the cans and stock them up. At about 4 we decided it was time to go. Some of us went over to Macado's for dinner...on the MV's :)! So that was pretty fun.

I was pretty disappointed, however, because I was the only sister from Tau Beta Sigma to show up. And there was one brother from Kappa Kappa Psi to show up. I had it under the impression Hokies for the Hungry was a TBS/KKY thing. It's great that people had helped out Saturday and all...but the fact that no one showed up to actually take it to the Christmas Store was stange and disappointing to me. This was a huge service event. To help out the community. I just know that as Historian, I'm not going to put it up on the board or in the slide show that we do "Hokies for the Hungry." Because it's a Marching Virginian thing, not a TBS thing.

Anyway...I have today off from work! So I'm finishing up stuff for the TBS board and putting it up this evening. I'm also thinking I'm going to go over to expert-Ts and see about getting me a TBS sweatshirt made! Apparently the fabric I have is also family letters for some other people...but I love the fabric and I bought it before I knew, so whatever. I'm making it into a sweatshirt, so that's different. It'll be a blue sweatshirt (maybe purple...we'll see the choices) with a pink background. And the letter fabric is black with rainbow music notes! The music notes are kinda in Lisa Frank style if that gives you a clue. I'll take a picture because they are that awesome. :) I also have some tootie roll fabric that I want to get made, but that can wait for a bit.

Update: here's what it looks like:

Have a nice day, remember to thank a veteran today!

~Taylor~

This took me forever to get done! But I got it up on Monday, and there it will stay until December. :)

Check it out!

It's Starting to Smell Like Autumn

Kevin and I were headed to his car last night because Kevin was taking me home, and it just really smelled like fall. You know that fallen leaf smell? I wanted to blog about it, i thought. But then I thought it'd be really cool if while you were reading this, I could also be having you smell that smell I smelled last night...haha. That'll be the next new thing with computers/the internet...sending smell between computers. First you need to make devices that can capture the smell, then figure out how to put it into the computer and send it. And right next to the speakers would be the smellers...I think it's possible. :) Just think about how bakers and florists online could use these smells. It'd be the newest phenomenon!

It's just a thought...

I've been meeting with my Debate team to work on our...well...debate. I hope it'll go well. We don't have any ideas to use for props. We're doing it on global warming, the side that thinks it's a natural process and humans have little to no impact on it. So if any of the two of you who read this have any ideas...let me know! Our debate is in two weeks. Ah! I'm going to be so nervous!

This isn't our position (we believe global warming exists)...but it is pretty funny :)

The UVA game is coming up next weekend. We're going to Charlottesville Friday and are having a performance with their band together that night. That'll be interesting...and we're playing Christmas music...can I say no? Haha. Atleast it'll be after Thanksgiving when we play it. We're also marching with them on Saturday and will be spelling out "Virginia". Yeah, I know it's our state...but they are called Virginia...and that's a little lame. I'd much prefer a Tech somewhere in there. So it'll be interesting. There is also a Tau Beta Sigma colony there, so that should be interesting to meet them.

I also like how Saturday's game against Miami doesn't matter in the least...but I hope we don't throw that game away just to save our players. Let's rack up a ton of points and then sit back and enjoy the rest of the game and WIN.

Ta-ta!

~Taylor~

Here is a FOUND by Richard Dutton in Seattle, Washington he found it in the Space Needle, stuck in the window, which rotates relative to the dining tables.

We had our first snow on Thursday! It was mostly flurries, but at times it came down really hard. I was leaving to head to Marching Practice and it started coming down really hard, and it was really windy. It was hitting me like little pebbles. And practice was so cold, it was hard to last through. I took a few pictures of it sort of sticking to some leaves:

First Snow of the Season

That same day Kevin and I went to the mall and we saw the new Food Court was almost finished. We finally have a food court again!!! They put it back where it use to be...kind of...But not as many food places as you'd think there would be. Some chinese food, sbarro, subway, and DQ. It looks really nice too, nice enough for me to take a picture!:

New Food Court

Also, I got that TBS sweatshirt back that I had made! They said not until the 19th so I was surprised when I got the call it was done yesterday! I was leaving practice early to get ready for Christin's Engagement Party, and I checked my voice messages, and they said it was done! So I stopped there real quick to pick it up. YAY! :) It turned out well, though I do sort of wish I had picked the bigger letters, but it is fine anyway. This is what it looks like:

Photo%2016.jpg

I then got ready for Christin's Engagement party! YAY! I'm so excited that Ryan FINALLY asked her. But truth be told, they have been dating less than Kevin and I...of course they are older, but not by much. Haha. It was fun, and Christin was SO PRETTY. I have a picture of us:

Christin and I at her engagment party!!!

It was a good end of the week if I do say so myself.

~Taylor~

Yesterday was pretty fun! It started with Hokies Thank the World down at the drillfield. I was in the pep band, we had some Marching Virginians performing to provide entertainment for everyone gathering on the drillfield to make the letters. It turned out pretty well! They put it up on the board during the game and I took a picture of...the picture, haha:

VT Thanks You

Kevin and I were standing at the top right of the T in the VT. It was pretty neat. And my big sis Sarah was right next to me :)! After we were finished, I still had about 2 hours before my call at the MV Field. Kevin and I went over to Substation for some grub! Yummy. We took our time getting back to the field, Kevin took some pictures of us warming up, haha.

Then it was GAME TIME!!!! There is something that TBS does for the HTs...take them some apples after they perform. Since we get apples after we perform, we like to be nice and take some over to them once or twice a season. So we did that, and they were SO grateful. So yay!

HT Enjoying an Apple We Brought Them!

So, the game was kinda awesome. Especially because we won...the whole time. It went really fast too. Exciting games will do that. YAY HOKIES!!! And now BC is going to the ACC Championship, and it would be FANTASTIC to get there and kick their butts! So...watch out Wahoos! We're coming to your town and taking your number! ...or whatever it is. :-P

Oh, and it was also really awesome when we looked up in the sky and saw the word "win"!!!

WIN!

Awesome :)

~Taylor~

Yesterday was very relaxing, except for right when I woke up because my cats were crawling all over me. And Bou kept laying on my laptop keyboard and making it beep constantly. They finally got me up and downstairs, all five cats were in the kitchen...their food bowl was empty. Uh oh! So I filled it back up so they'd leave me alone, but I couldn't get back to sleep anyway.

My parents had ordered License to Wed on pay-per-view...so I watched it. I should have waited until it came in on netflix and to watch it with Kevin, but it was there and I watched it. I loved it, and I can't wait to see it again with Kevin. My parents thought it was totally stupid, but...okay, well it is, but it is also really sweet, and I got all teared up in the end. So...yay! Though I did feel like it was missing some stuff, it was pretty short, but...oh well! I'd totally watch it again! :)

Then I watched whatever the Sunday program is called on ESPN that talks about all the college football games. Wrap-up something or another...I don't know. But I wanted to see highlights from VT vs. Miami, naturally. I got to see the highlights! It wasn't much...because the game didn't really matter at all...but they did show the Hokies thank the World picture. Yay!

Kevin woke up early, too early for his grandma to be there to make him breakfast, so I suggested we go out and get breakfast. We decided on Cracker Barrel. Kevin LOVES Cracker Barrel, it's cute. I haven't been there in forever it seems. I picked him up, but on the way out there, Kevin had a change of heart. He remembered seeing a commercial about breakfast burritos at Sonic and he thought they looked so good he really wanted one. So we went to Sonic instead.

It was really good. :)

I had some shirts I had to return to Michael's, because as much as I wished a Youth M would fit me, it was just a little too small, so I had to take them back. We ran over there, and I did not look around Michael's, because I knew if I did I would be there FOREVER and I Kevin would get annoyed. Haha, typical guy right? So I just returned the shirts and we were out of there.

Kevin and I decided to go to the mall. He had been wanting a shirt and we thought we'd check to see if it was there, and I really wanted a hot fudge sundae from DQ. So, we went over to Aeropostle, Kevin looked around for the shirt he wanted while I browsed the girl stuff. I love the clothes they have, and while they aren't as expensive as Gap or Old Navy, it's still too pricey for me to buy everything I want. Haha. But, it is like that for everything. One of the employees was very chatty. He asked us if we went to the game, and if we thought it was awesome. I noticed how he directed that more towards Kevin...obviously he didn't realize I'm the football lover in this relationship. He then asked us what we majored in at Tech and when he found out I was a Geography major he gave me a little quiz...weird...but, he did help us. Kevin had found the shirt he wanted, but there were only smalls and mediums out. Kevin needs a large, so the guy went in the back and found it for him. Yay! So I bought it for Kevin as a "Thanksgiving Present" haha. We can never wait to give each other presents, it's pretty funny.

That's the sweater I got him, it looks really good on him :)! I told him he would actually have to wait for it...as a joke...and he got so sad, it was adorable. But as soon as he found out I was joking his face lite up like a little kid's face in a toy store. Haha.

He bought me my hot fudge sundae as a thank you. :) It was very good and we sat in the new food court area. Kevin got on his ipod touch and showed me how this blog has an elemenatry school reading level. That's always lovely to hear...but also it's not like this is a specific blog about certain things or that I get very deep. It's just my thoughts/my experiences and doesn't need to get all "high level." Haha. If you want to find out your blogs readability just go here and type in its url.

We almost went to see Dan in Real Life, but Kevin really wanted to see Hokie Playback...he edits half of the home football games together to show on Sundays after the games. So we went to his house instead, we were going to see a movie on Wednesday before I left to go to Alexandria anyway. For some reason it was showing ESPN's graphics, which is what Kevin works so hard to cover up! So, it's a mystery to what happened.

Kevin and I had planned on watching some netflix movies on our relaxing day, so we popped in Nacho Libre to begin our movie watching experience. We tried watching that movie...we really did...but plain and simple...IT SUCKED! It was so stupid, there was no point to it, so we actually turned it off. It was that bad. We moved on to another movie...Real Genius. Now that was a pretty great movie. I will highly recommend it. It's really funny! Most 80s movies are really good. It was a good decade to be born in, huh? :) After that movie was over, I decided I wanted to continue with the light-hearted funny movies, so I chose to watch When Harry Met Sally. I LOVE THIS MOVIE! We ordered a pizza half the way into it. That was YUMMY as usual. :) After Harry and Sally we decided to watch yet ANOTHER movie. I picked Saved!...I just felt like watching it...not sure why, haha. It's an...interesting movie. After that movie we finally decided to stop watching movies. We played the Friends Trivia game and Kevin stomped me TWICE. I use to stomp him, but he's been watching the DVDs over and over again and now I need to freshen up my memory so I can start stomping him again!!!

We watched TV the rest of the night. All in all it was a pretty fun day! :) I wish I could say next Sunday would be as much fun, but I can guarentee that it won't be...I'm going to be having 3 meetings...STARTING at 8 in the evening. It'll be a blast I'm sure. Ugh.

I hope everyone has a great turkey week! I'm headed up to Alexandria for Thanksgiving at my grandma's Wednesday evening. Then Friday all the UVA stuff starts. Hopefully Saturday I'll be celebrating the fact that we're going to the ACC Championship!!!!! I really can't wait to stomp BC. I'd love the chance to do that! Haha.

Crackin Up Lily

Kevin and I went on a date last night! A real date...a dinner and a movie kind of date. :) It was so much fun! We pretty much never go on real dates anymore...we just sort of hang out at his house or go hang out with other people. So it's nice to be able to have some time out just for us!

First we had dinner. Kevin picked me up from my house and everything! Haha. We went to Texas Roadhouse...I had just been there the night before with my parents, but Kevin LOVES the place, and I was totally fine with it. We both got this mouth water Sirloin Steak, YUMMMMM!!!! It is so good, and they have horseradish, which I LOVE with steak! We definitely enjoyed ourselves and got super full!

After we were finished we drove across the street to the movie theater. We had decided to see Dan in Real Life! It didn't start for another hour, so we just got the tickets and headed over to the mall to hang out while we waited. On our way over, we stopped and got some pictures with the movie poster.

At the Movies

There wasn't anyone around to ask for a picture together...but I wouldn't really trust anyone either. Crazy people out there in Cburg! :-P So we headed over to the mall. I had been wanting a sweater from the Gap, and Kevin said he would get it for me for Thanksgiving. (I got him a sweater and a scarf for thanksgiving, haha) We went to the Gap and I tried it on for him to find out his opinion and he liked it, plus all sweaters at the Gap right now are half off!!! That was pretty awesome. So he got it for me! YAY! :)

Thanksgiving Present

Yes, I took a picture of it! You'll be able to see it actually on me on Thanksgiving, because that's what I'm wearing for dinner. :)

Kevin and I decided to chill on a couch while we were waiting for the movie to start. I tried getting a picture of us, but Kevin would not cooperate! I saved all the messed up ones and put them together with the good one:

How many tries does it take to get a decent picture of me and Kevin?

Silly.

It was finally movie time! We headed back over to the theatre, got a drink and some cookie dough candy and headed to the theatre. There was only one other family in the theatre when we got there, so we got some good seats. The theatre is brand new, and has stadium seating, so anywhere in the bottom half sucks, and pretty much all of the top half is awesome. The theatre never got filled, it's break and this movie has been out for a while, but a few more groups of people came in. Including a bunch of brats who made noise the entire time and kept leaving and coming back in...very annoying. When the movie started, they were still talking and laughing, I just wanted to go yell at them! But I had tolerance, like Kevin says I don't have! Haha. The movie was GREAT! Steve Carell stars in it, and is about a man who is a single father raising three girls. His wife had died four years earlier from cancer, i think it was...they talked about her getting sick. He was a writer for an advice column about parenting and family stuff. His family goes to his parents house to meet up with the entire family (brothers, sister, their families), and his daughters are pretty mad at him for various reasons, so his mom sends him to get the newspaper to get away and clear his mind. At the store he meets a woman. They hit it off and have tea and talk and talk, until she gets a call and had to leave. He finds out she is in a new relationship, but she gives him her number anyway so they can "finish their conversation." ***Apparently I gave away too much, so I took this part out to not reveal too much*** DUN DUN DUNNNN. Now go see the movie and find out what happens, because I loved it! :) I can't wait for it to come out on DVD, because I'm definitely buying it! YAY! My big sister, Sarah, loved it too, and now I know all what she was talking about. Haha.

Dan in Real Life!

After the movie we headed back to Kevin's house. On the way we listened to some fun songs. One was "The Way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson. I first heard it in an Old Navy commercial and I just love the lyrics and the way it sounds. We listened to it twice and sang along.

We listened to a few other songs, ones that just really make you dance. And it was so hilarious, Kevin was just jamming away and singing along, it's really adorable. I need to get it on video sometime when he isn't paying attention. I was dancing along with him and cracking it. It was probably the most fun I've had in a car ride back from Christiansburg ever! Haha. I kept saying, I can't wait to blog about this!!!

When we got to his house we relaxed and watched TV until I was falling asleep and then Kevin took me home.

It was a fantastic night!!! :) Thank you so much for everything Kevin! :)

A little something from FOUND?!

~Taylor~

(graphics from here)
