Yay! Blog is up and running.

My mom got a new cat. Making our grand total of cats SIX?! Wow. So Kevin and I went up to the Humane Society to see her. We don't get her until she's neutered, and the next available appointment wasn't until this coming week. So we have to wait to get her. She doesn't have a name yet, I don't think. My mom realized one day, that our cats all have names with three, four, five, six, and seven letters, so she wants to name this new cat with eight letters. Fun stuff right there. Haha.

Here she is:
Pretty Blue Eyes

And Kevin was pretty smitten with her:

I can't wait to get her home. We'll have to keep her in her own room for a little bit while she recoops from the surgery. She's already had a litter of kittens and nursed some more that came into the Humane Society. She must be a pretty special kitty to take care of those kittens. All of her kittens already have homes, I'm glad to be able to give her a home.

I'm sure there will be more pictures of her in the future, and hopefully a name!

P.S. Thanks Kevin :)

I got my dad a shirt. His birthday is on Wednesday, so he has another present on the way.

Scruffy-Looking Nerf-Herder!

I didn't do much today, which by now is really actually yesterday. I watched a lot of tv and did stuff on my computer. My kitty helped with that.

After Kevin got back home from eating lunch with his dad at Ryan's, I went over and we started watching Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back. (hince this blog's title, said by none other than Princess Leia herself!) We watched Star Wars: A New Hope last night. We had to stop a little over an hour into it because I needed to go to the Weather Station. For those of you who don't know, I'm doing an un-paid internship at the NOAA Weather Station here in Blacksburg. I work Sundays from 6-9. Not long, but I learn a lot in those three hours a week. Tonight was my fourth night there. Since there was no rain anywhere on the radar (the closest was up in Cincinnati, OH), it was a very quiet night. It seems like every night I'm there there isn't really anything going on. Anyway, this night one of the meteorologists there, Anita, showed me her research. She, a long with a few others, are going back over days when there was a lot of severe activity and figuring out what type of thunderstorms formed (super cells, squall lines, pulse, and multicell cluster) and where they came from, to form some type of pattern with it all. Or something like that. Haha. It was really interesting. I got to see huge super cells form on radar images, and I learned that they will generally move to the right of the storm, which indicates that it is a super cell. Anyway, so that was cool. I went back over to Kevin's and we finished the movie up. The middle of it was scratched up or something so it would skip and stop a lot, so we missed 10 minutes of the movie due to that. :( Then we watched some Friends! I love Friends, it's only the best show ever. Now I'm back home watching tv and on my laptop again.

Work all day tomorrow, I need to work a whole bunch to get lots of money for Charleston!

~Taylor~

P.S. Happy 21 Months, Kevin!

So I woke up later than I wanted, but I still got to work at around 8:30. It's actually a good thing I went in early (besides the extra money) because we had a meeting at 10 I forgot about. What we thought was a meeting anyway...Turns out that we met our yearly goals, so we got excellence awards, thank you cards, and a hokie highlighter. PLUS! Food! When Dawn, Holly, and I walked into the meeting room there was food out on the table. And I said, "If this food isn't for us, that is just mean!" But it was for us! Donuts, fruit, some sort of pastry things, and juice. Yum! Then it was time to go back to working. I'm making folders for all the programs...it's F-U-N...I also figured out the rest of the classes I need to take for my major/minors. I'm going to have to figure out what I'm going to do to get the rest of the credits I need to graduate because after this fall, I'll be almost finished with those classes I need to take. So we'll see. Amanda and I took 45 minutes to get our classes the same. Haha. We're taking almost all the same classes this fall and so we figured we should just take them together, so all but one of my classes is with her. Including crazy Wednesdays...where we have classes (all together) from 8am to 7pm. CRAZY!!! Haha.So around 3:15 I went home to meet Kevin to walk over to the Bridge Party together. They are opening the new Tom's Creek Overpass tomorrow at 1. So today they had a ribbon cutting and party. FREE FOOD!

Be Prepared to Stop

It was SUPER hot! Walking back was even worse than walking there. I was so tired and hot, I just wanted to lay down the whole walk back! And my mom kept wanting to sing "Wizard of Oz" songs. When we got back home, Kevin went home to cool off from the walk, and I passed out in my chair with the fan on. It felt sooo good. At 7 I took my brother over to meet the new band director at BHS. Darrel Pireman or something like that. He seemed nice. His son is adorable! Two years old, named Michael, and his wife was Nicole. They were very nice. Dr. Love was just raving about him, she said he was the one she picked. Dr. Love still hates me, I'm not even in her classes anymore! Haha. I stayed for a little while and then called Kevin to come over to watch Kyle XY. Turns out he had fallen asleep and I had awakened him. He let me come over anyway, and we watched Jeopardy until we decided to go to Kobe and just tivo Kyle XY. MMM, Kobe is the best food ever in the world. It's a little Japanese Express Restaurant. We ate there, then I filled up on gas before i made myself 100% broke! We got back just in time for Hell's Kitchen!!! Awesome as usual. Julia, the cook from the Waffle House, said something pretty funny. They were going to make breakfast for the Navy and the Army, and when they were all walking in they showed her crying. Later she said,"It made tears come down outta my eyes!" Well, where else would they come from? Your ears? *Here's your sign!* They split the two up between the kitchens, Army to the red team, and Navy to the blue team. Into the service the red team was getting their breakfasts out in good time, but the blue team wasn't. A navy guy said,"If I knew I was going to get my food sooner, I would have joined the army!" I thought that was pretty funny. :) Ramsey was of course yelling at the blue team quite a lot. Brad was messing up and Ramsey yells at him,"You're going to sink the Navy you BEEP BEEP!" Haha. Ramsey is just fantastic. He's *British accent* spot on! Haha. The girls won, of course and they got to go up in a helicopter and eat with Ramsey on an Air Craft Carrier. That looked awesome. The guys had to peel and chop 1,000lbs worth of onions and potatoes. What fun! Aaron ended up passing out or something, and later found out he wouldn't be in the show anymore because he has too severe of an illness. At the dinner Jen threw out some extra spaghetti then found out they actually needed it. So she went back to the garbage bin, took out the spaghetti on the top, washed it, and put it back in the pot. Luckily Julia made her throw that back out and started to make new s'ghetti. The red team lost because of a lot of different mistakes. Ramsey didn't pick a best out of them, they had to nominate two people to go on the chopping block. They decided between Julia and Joanna. When he asked who was nominated, they said Joanna and Julia, then Jen stepped up and said, and me. She was going to get away with her stupid mistake, and then she went and confessed it!!! Joanna ended up getting kicked off because she cooked with bad crab and could have killed the people who ate it, luckily none of it went out to the customers. So two people gone in just one night!

Anyway, I'm super tired, so that's all I have for now!

~Taylor~

I woke up at 6 this morning like I wanted. I got ready and everything, but then laid down for a bit and ended up falling asleep and not waking up again until 10. I woke up feeling pretty bad. I was all congested and my stomach ached. So I told my boss I wouldn't be in during the morning, but I'd be in for the meetings. They were required meetings so I knew I'd have to go no matter what. By 12 I was really feeling a lot better. My mom came home with the new kitty. Who's name is "Mallibou." And we'll call her "Bou" for short. I took some pictures, here's a nice one:

In Her New Room
In her new room

After I got ready for work again, I took my brother to work at Food Lion. I went my usual way in and then I realized that I wouldn't need to park, so I just let him out where I would turn out to get out of the parking lot. That area just so happened to be behind a car, they started backing out with me sitting right there. I didn't notice until my brother was like, WOAH! So I honked and gave him a dirty look. He needs to LOOK before backing out. Dontcha think? I got to work around 1. I did some of my work until the first meeting at 1:30. It was a meeting for just our one section of Continuing and Professional Education, Registration. It was generally just announcements and discussion. Then I had an hour between that meeting and the big meeting with all of the CPE staff over at The Inn at Virginia Tech. I did a little bit more work, and then helped Dawn some. We then went over to The Inn for the meeting. It was informative and helpful to have all of us together. I went back to work after that and figured out how many hours I can work each week in the fall (around 19.5) and I printed out some information regarding Band Parents Day. I'm co-chair of Band Parents Day in Tau Beta Sigma, so I was getting info for the forms that parents fill out how many tickets they want and such. After I figured all that out, I went over to Squires to take a picture of the Tau Beta Sigma board that I need to update. I finally got home and no one was home yet, but my dad came in about 5 minutes later. I caught myself up on All My Children! DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA!!! I went upstairs and played with Bou some, I got some more pictures and some video! She's so sweet. She curled up in my lap at one point. It was really sweet. She loves attention, and she wants so badly to be out of that room, but she has to stay in her room because she has to rest up from her surgery and she has ear mites, which is transferable to other cats.

Now I'm watching "On the Lot." I haven't heard from Kevin yet, he was meeting someone at Mill Mountain Coffee at 7:30 and said it would only take around 15-20 minutes, but now it's 8:22. So I hope he's okay! (He just called, literally right after I wrote that, creepy!)

"If my dog pooped my eye out, I wouldn't be waiting to put it back in!" - Carrie Fisher (In refrence to this video: Glass Eye)

Update: Aww, I really liked Sunshine Girl. It was really cute.

Update: I finally got to go to see Kevin! We watched Friends and then decided we were hungry and I wanted a bagel, so we went to Food Lion. But then we decided to go to Macados to get some Grilled Munster Bagels to go. Then we went back by Food Lion because Kevin forgot to get shampoo. While he ran into the store, I moved my car across the parking lot...I thought it was funny...Then we went back to his house, ate our Macados and watched more Friends. And then I went home! Now I am going to bed, but first see this, it's really cute!!!

(aww, and McKenna just made the cute little noise while she's sleeping next to me. Like a little smacking sound. Haha.)

oh, and this is funny:
Good Quality Pet Blogging

okay, finished, goodnight!

Today was fun. A lot better than yesterday anyway, I did about nothing. I accidentally slept in until about 10. It was pretty nice though. It took me a while to wake up, and I watched The Price is Right (re-run of course). On there a guy won a trip to San Diego...which is where he lives ironically. I thought that was pretty funny. Sharon called me near the end of the show, wanted to know if I wanted to go to lunch. Of course I would! That was fun. We ended up going to Macado's, I LOVE Macado's. :) After we ate I went to work, I figured why not since I was practically right next door! I had half a bagel muenster left, so I called Kevin to see if he wanted it, he did, so I took it over to him. Then I worked. I was talking to Dawn and found out that she was moving some stuff in to her house and wiping down the walls. (They just refinished her hardwood floors and it got dust all over the walls. Ew!) They look soo good now. I was amazed how good they look, they look brand new!!! (and they are about 35+ years old!) So I told her I would help! The rest of the day she kept giving me a count down until 5 and we could leave. Haha. She's such a nerd!!! We decided to get some Kobe before we went to her house, she so sweet and bought it for me since I was helping out. I owe her so many meals, haha. Kevin was there when we went to Kobe! He was eating there with his dad. Dawn and I went over to her house and we ate our Kobe then got to work! We wiped down the walls and then Kevin showed up! YAY! (I had told him to, he didn't just randomly show up, haha) He helped us for a little while. He was a big help. We put in the covers for the light switch and the plugs, and then brought up her bed and put it together. Kevin was fantabulous for helping out! Then Kevin went home to do whatever, and Dawn and I cleaned up a bit more until she decided she just HAD to have a bedskirt for her bed. Haha. So we went to Wally World to get one. Once we reached Christiansburg, we saw Luke! (her husband) That was funny. We got Dawn a bedskirt and went back to her house. I got my car and went to Kevin's. We watched tv! Haha. Now I'm home watching Conan about to go to bed because I'm super sleepy.

Nighty night!

Happy Birthday Dawn and Christin!!!

Christin is down in Orlando with her internship this summer, so we don't get to celebrate it with her. BUT Dawn is here, of course, haha. So she decided she wanted to go out to dinner and then back to her house for some cupcakes! More on that later! :)

So my very own birthday is coming up next month! The big 2-0! EEK! Haha. I added a new area to my side bar and that is "My birthday list" way down there under TV shows and movies. So far I have two things on there. One is a desk. I'm rearranging my room and getting rid of some furniture, so I need a new desk. Plus I need a lot more desk space than I have now, and I believe the desk I found at Office Max is the answer!

My mom said if I wait a little while she might help out getting it or get it for me. So that'll be pretty sweet. That's $200 I can save. Haha.

Another thing I want is a gift card to The Cheesecake Factory.

Kevin and I are going to Charleston, SC for my birthday (I'm pretty sure we are at least) and on the way down I thought it would be yummy to eat lunch there. So having a gift card there would be pretty sweet!

I'm sure I shall continue to add things on there. It's more of a list for myself, rather than other people, to keep track of what I want. And it's always fun to talk about things you want to get! But right now I really want that desk. But I can wait...haha.

~Taylor~

Update: Dawn's birthday was fun. When Dawn and Luke finally showed up at Texas Roadhouse, haha, she opened her presents from us. (mine wasn't a real present, just something she's been needing for a while). Dixie (and Brett) got her gift cards to Target and Lowes. Which is great because Dawn is still getting things for her house and re-doing bathrooms and stuff. So that will help her out a lot! I got Dawn scissors. Haha, she's been complaining that she doesn't have any. So I got her some as a temporary present. I told her I'd be getting her something when my family goes down to Key West and Cozumel for the cruise. I of course told our waitress that it was Dawn's birthday. So they eventually came over and recognized Dawn. They don't sing happy birthday, they just get everyone to say "Yee-haw!"
(I know it's hard to see, sorry!)
Happy Birthday Dawn!
After dinner, we went over to Dawn and Luke's house for cupcakes. We hung around a for a little while. I tried to call Christin to say happy birthday to her, but she didn't answer, I'm sure she was having fun in Disney World or something. Anyway, we all had fun. Yay for birthdays!

So the other day Kevin talked me into doing a Weather Video Podcast. Where I would explain weather phenomena that people generally wonder about. So I hope to be educational, but an interesting educational. Haha. So hopefully we'll get that up and running soon!

So I decided to change my "Birthday Wish List" to "Gift Wish List" because I'm sure I won't get all that for my birthday, and it can just be a continued thing. Haha. I added a mini fridge to my list because I'd really like to be able to keep my own grocery's separate from my parents, so my brother doesn't go and eat my food!

Today I'm sure will be filled with Star Wars. We have two Star Wars movies to watch from Netflix, so we'll be watching those today. Kevin wants to send them back tomorrow so we can have more next weekend. One of them is the third Star Wars which I have never seen! :-O! Haha. So I'm really excited about being able to see that one! I have my hours at the weather station tonight, so hopefully that will be interesting. I need one stormy Sunday, come on now!!! Haha.

~Taylor~

6-23-07 (#174)

Sunday was a busy day for the Weather Station. Severe Weather all over the place! When I got there the lead Meteorologist had kept one of the guys later than his shift. I don't think he was too happy about it. He had been calling so many people all over the area. He said his mouth was dry from talking so much. It's why you drink water! Anyway, someone came in early to his shift to relieve him. They tried to get me to answer the phone, but I didn't know what to say! The reason they need to call people is because after they make a severe weather warning, they need to verify it. So they call people in the area of the storm to see if there was severe weather and when it occurred. It also helps them decide lead time. The more lead time the better, negative lead time (as in someone says a severe weather occurrence happened before they issued the warning) is not good at all.

Afterwards I went to Kevin's house, who decided he wanted to go to Wal-Mart. By that time it was pouring and thundering up a storm...haha.

It stopped raining once we got to Christiansburg, but then when we were in Wal-Mart there was some wicked loud thunder and then we heard something that sounded like pouring rain. When we got out it was over. Don't you love summer weather?

I stayed home from work yesterday. I started cleaning out my drawers and my desk to move out of my room. It takes a lot longer than one would think it would take...

There was a lot of convection yesterday too
6-25-07 (#176)

Today I'm going to work. I need money for Charleston!!! I can't wait to go! Except for the fact that while I'm down there I'll turn 20...that's OLD! Haha, just kidding. But it will be weird, I'll be starting on my THIRD decade!

~Taylor~

So, yesterday....

I went to work, it was amazingly boring. When it was finally time to leave I was glad to get out! I went home and ate dinner, watched a little bit of tv, then went upstairs to clean. I was cleaning out the long chest of drawers and I took a top drawer out. My cat, Snoopy, immediately climbed into it. It was really cute, I had to go get my camera!

6-26-07 (#177)

He's just so fat, it took him a while to figure out how to get out.
Peering Out

I finished cleaning it out, but I can't move it myself, so I'm going to have to wait until someone is free to help me, and I can move the new furniture in in its place! So I'm excited about that :)!

I then watched the lot, nothing stood out to me. I don't know if I really like that show or not. But it is always interesting to see what they come up with!

I finally got to see Kevin at 10, he had a meeting. So I went over to his house to see him! Then he decided he was too tired, so I went home an hour later so he could go to sleep. I got to go back out to pick up my brother at Food Lion. That was a joy. I went in to tell him I was picking him up, and he was like, you're early! I got a Mr. Goodbar and waited in the car, I was a little freaked out that someone was going to come get me in my car. Haha. Finally he came out, and he was all, why did they send you? Gosh, I do something nice and it is questioned! But my parents did make me do it. Haha.

Anyway, today I'm going to go to work and be bored out of my mind again. What fun!!!

~Taylor~

My Birthday is in a Month!!!

So I went to work, it was incredibly boring like I thought it'd be. Haha. I wish there was more entry or something, that's a lot more interesting to do. I had a nice break when I had lunch with Kevin at Sub Station II. There was a vase of flowers and a picture dedicated to Fred Peery. He was a really nice guy who had worked there for 22 years, Kevin and I usually saw him when we'd go to eat there. We could only guess that he had died, why else would you have his picture up like that by flowers? I found an article about it, he died on the 18th of this month at his house. That's really sad. Sub Station II is the best place to get a sub. For serious! I went back to work after lunch, Kevin went to meet with another Kevin about the scholarship he is receiving. Yay Kevin! (The funny thing was that other Kevin was eating at Sub Station too!) So I went back to work and finished out my hours. I went home and watched tv. Kevin had another meeting, so I waited for him to get back. Then we went to Wally World! Kevin bought me the bookcase I've been needing! He's so wonderful! :) I'll have pictures up of it as soon as we get it together and up! I'm so excited, and it was cheaper in the store than online, so yay for that! It was super heavy though, so when I got home I had my dad and my brother get it out of my car, I could barely budge it. Haha. So Kevin and I got back to his house (oh, he also got me a roast beef sandwich from Arbys :) I told you he's wonderful!) and we watched Last Comic Standing. I love that show!!! They were in England for the first half, I love those accents! It was pretty good. Then we watched Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List. She's so funny, that's a great show too. Then Kevin decided he was really tired, so I got kicked out again. Haha. It's alright, he needs his rest. That's all I have for tonight!

~Taylor~

So when I get bored, I suppose I get overzealous on the internet. Like the other day I made a plead to threadless users as to good blogs out there that they knew of. Stevethegreat suggested this DC Sports Bog, I read it some, but reading about sports isn't really my thing. I like to watch it, and that be that. But some sports lovers out there might really enjoy it, it's not boring at all, just not my thing. Another user, bonedaddy, suggested this site, they are "a tiny little division" of Hallmark (Shoebox) and it's hilarious! I LOVE IT! There are lots of different people contributing to it, including bonedaddy's sister, Tina. So definately check it out. And I love those Shoebox cards too, they are always really funny, and very enjoyable! T4sh4 suggested digg. Which I did already know about thanks to Kevin, but it is a good idea to get back into that when I'm bored! They usually have really good articles and interesting pictures. So thanks! Later on, she also suggested Reddit, which is similar to digg, so that looks pretty interesting too! I had to ignore some people, I'm sorry, but I'm not going to follow a link that says "ratemypoo.com" no thank you! Lemonalle gave me the link to Neatorama, which is ...well...neat. It has very intresting things on it, so definately check it out!

Another thing I did, was even out my friends on Twitter. I know, weird, but I don't like it when there are just a few in the last row, I like it to be all even! A lot of random people friend me, so I decided to go into my "follower" column and see who actually had something interesting to read. Of those, I chose Brian Shaler, frankgilroy, and twittown. Then I went through Kevin's friends (I'm a stealer, I know) to see if I could find anyone else I knew. And I found ponzarelli, who is Chris Pirillo's wife. He does a lot of stuff on the internet Kevin likes to follow, and he is on the internet a lot, so I can totally relate with her. They have some cute videos online called geek love or something. I'll ask Kevin where they are when he's around so I can post some links to them on here! (he says, "Somewhere in here: http://www.youtube.com/lockergnome")
Here is one:

and some others:
Geek Marriage Counseling
Geek Love
More Geek Love

Then I went to the public timeline, which is just where they show everyone's updates as they come in, and it updates every four minutes, and I just looked for someone who was most interesting on there. And that was StarFlower! Congrats! Haha. She has a pretty awesome icon, so that was just bonus points. So now all my friends are even! YAY!
friends.JPG

Don't judge me on how few friends I have, and yes I know a lot of them are fictional...shhh!

I also split up my links over in the side bar to the right of here into two sections "Me Around the Net" and "Other Links." I just felt like doing it. :)

AND, I got a tumblr account. So that should be fun. I'm still waiting for a pownce invite. Those who get an invite are lucky, but not if they rub it in my face! Haha.

I think that is it for now. Have a nice evening! :)

~Taylor~

What I look like while I'm at work...haha:
6-28-07

Last night Kevin and I took out his desk and put it downstairs. I'm so little! It was so heavy! I was sad I couldn't help Kevin at first because when I tried picking it up it was too heavy, but then Kevin realized it was still attached to the base, so after that I could lift it up better, so I was happy I could help Kevin. He really wanted to get that out of his house! He might have left me for a stronger woman! Haha, I hope that wouldn't be true. Then we brought in his new desk from the car. I almost dropped it because it was laying on a nerve in my arm and it started making my hand spasm. But we finally got it in! Yay, I'm useful! Haha. He started putting it together, I left and he kept working on it. I'll get to see it tonight! I'm sure I'll take a picture, so look for that later. :)

This morning, Bou has been roaming around outside her room. I'm hearing growling right now from Lily, pour girl. Bou beats up Lily. Haha. Anyway, Bou hopped up with me on the recliner, it was really cute.

Bou sitting with me on the recliner

Then she decided to climb onto my laptop!
Bou on the computer

While she was on my laptop, she made all the fonts really big, and I don't know how to change it back to normal!
Then she took a bath on the foot rest, haha.
Bou Taking a bath.

Off to work! More later I'm sure!
